Review: Pittsburgh, PA 2001
We saw Alan perform in Pittsburgh on 5/20 as part of the George Strait Festival. He really wowwed the crowd with his performance. Paul and I drove the 6 hours to celebrate our anniversary. We were sitting in the third row, and believe it or not, there was no one in front of us. We had a perfect view of the stage. At one point Alan came over our way, looked right at us and tipped his hat. He played many of his major hits, sang 3 songs off his new album, When Somebody Loves You, including "Where I Come From", added a brief redition of "Pittsburgh Steelers" (by the Kendalls), and finished up with Chattahoochee and an encore of Mercury Blues to a standing ovation crowd. He later joined George Strait on stage and sang "Murder on Music Row" with him. Although I also love George Strait's music and have been to many of his early concerts, I think Alan's show was the best of the night!!!! What a great way to celebrate our anniversary.
